Monterey Pop 50 lineup & tickets: The Animals, Booker T, Regina Spektor, Leon Bridges, more

Late last week, it was revealed that the legendary Monterey Pop Festival would be making a comeback for its 50th anniversary, and that the full lineup would be announced today (4/17). The lineup is now here (and there’s actually still more TBA).

In addition to previously-announced acts Phil Lesh (who played the original Monterey as a member of the Grateful Dead), Kurt Vile, Jim James, Father John Misty, Gary Clark Jr, Norah Jones and The Head & and the Heart, the lineup also features Eric Burdon & the Animals (who played the original festival and wrote a song about it), Booker T. Stax Revue (Booker T & the MG’s backed Otis Redding at the original fest), Regina Spektor, Charles Bradley & his Extraordinaires, Dr. Dog, Hiss Golden Messenger, Langhorne Slim, Leon Bridges, Nicki Bluhm & Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and Sara Watkins.

Lou Adler, who co-produced the original Monterey Pop Fest with John Phillips of the Mamas & the Papas, is overseeing the festival. It’s also being co-produced by Goldenvoice (who are behind Coachella) and San Francisco promoters Another Planet Entertainment.

The festival takes place June 16-18 at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. Tickets go on sale Friday (4/21) at 1 PM EST.
