Moor Mother released 'Fetish Bones,' touring with Screaming Females
Philly artist Moor Mother (aka Moor Mother Goddess aka Camae Ayewa) plays music that, in her own words, is described as “Low fi/dark rap/chill step/ blk girl blues/witch rap/coffee shop riot gurl songs/southern girl dittys/black ghost songs.” She recently released her first album for Don Giovanni, Fetish Bones, which is really quite a confrontational listen. She recorded it “using a variety of machines, field recordings, and analog noisemakers,” and it’s noisy, political, and not like much music out there. You can stream the whole thing below.
Moor Mother will support their labelmates Screaming Females on several dates of their upcoming tour. That includes the Brooklyn show happening on November 5 at Market Hotel. Tickets for that show are still available. All dates are listed below.
Screaming Females also play NYC again at The Front Bottoms’ Champagne Jam at Webster Hall in December.
