Morrissey endorses far-right For Britain political party, which he says isn't racist or fascist

Morrissey‘s new Morrissey Central website is proving to be a very active place for him to espouse his increasingly extreme views, especially in regards to politics and immigration. In that long interview published earlier this week, Moz brought up political party For Britain in regards to their stance on animal welfare, saying they have the best policies on it. He has now posted again, a piece titled “I’ve Been Dreaming Of A Time When / the English / are sick to death of Labour and Tories” where he specifically is endorsing For Britain. He begins by saying, “I despise racism. I despise fascism,” and that “I would do anything for my Muslim friends, and I know they would do anything for me…In view of this, there is only one British political party that can safeguard our security. That party is For Britain.” He then goes on to say:

Please give them a chance. Listen to them. Do not be influenced by the tyrannies of the MSM who will tell you that For Britain are racist or fascist – please believe me, they are the very opposite!!! Please do not close your mind.

You can read Morrissey’s whole essay here. For Britain is generally regarded as a far-right party — their goals include “reduce immigration,” “End Islamisation of the UK” and “Protect British Culture.” There are a lot of people who think For Britain is racist and fascist, including (as Stereogum points out) Nigel Farage, who was one of the main UK politicians backing the pro-Brexit campaign, and who called For Britain’s supporters “Nazis and racists.”

Somehow this seems unlikely to be the last we’ll hear on this from Morrissey.
