Mount Sharp releasing EP (stream it), playing shows

by Bill Pearis

Brooklyn trio Mount Sharp are refreshingly gimmick free, with singer Sarah Wood’s strong songwriting and appealing vocals setting their fuzzy guitar pop apart from the pack. The band’s new EP, titled Weird Fears, is out next week (8/26) via YK Records. The vinyl is one-sided with a cool etching on the flip by Kris Johnson (preorder yours). You can listen to the whole EP ahead of it’s release — we’re premiering the stream in this post.

The band have a few East Coast shows surrounding the EP’s release, including NYC at Pianos on September 5 with Moon Furies, The Van Burens, The Brazilian Johnsons and Sunset Hearts also on the bill. Advance tickets are on sale. They’ll also play NJ’s Asbury Lanes on September 26.
