Mountain Man

Mountain Man are back; Amelia Meath also bringing Sylvan Esso to SXSW

Mountain Man

Indie-folk trio Mountain Man have had a quiet few years while their members have been occupied by other projects. Amelia Randall Meath has been busy with her very popular band Sylvan Esso. Molly Erin Sarle and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig both have both played solo shows, including opening slots for Big Thief and Hiss Golden Messenger. Lately, however, there have been signs of life from Mountain Man, who said on facebook that they’re “coming out of hibernation for our first show in a few years.” That show will be at the Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner-curated Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival. Mountain Man are also due to contribute a (new?) song to the protest compilation Our First 100 Days.

Amelia will be doing double duty at Eaux Claires, as Sylvan Esso are playing as well. The duo, who have an album due this year, ave some other festival appearances lined up this summer as well, including Boston Calling and Shaky Knees. They’ll also be in Austin for SXSW, where they’ll headline The A.V. Club / Onion’s party Just Another Manic Monday on March 13 at The Mohawk. See the flier for that below, as well as a full list of Sylvan Esso’s upcoming tour dates.
