We already knew that AEG Live was planning a Queens music festival called Panorama for June (that may or may not include an LCD Soundsystem reunion) which Governors Ball organizers are petitioning against. Now it looks like a potential third NYC music festival is being discussed for that same month.

The NY Post reports that Madison Square Garden is also trying to put on a festival in Queens’ Flushing Meadows Corona Park, the same place AEG is looking to host Panorama, from June 24-26. The article says details are expected to be confirrmed this week, and that sources said “it will celebrate quintessential New York with food and entertainment as well as music.” David O’Connor, president and CEO of MSG, told The Post, “There’s no one as committed to, or more capable of, creating a world-class festival than we are.” The article also points out MSG would do a free Queens community celebration on June 18.

Is it possible NYC could host three festivals in one month? Will GovBall petition this one too?
