Mundy's Bay sign to Pure Noise, share "Moonlight" off new EP

Quebec’s Mundy’s Bay have been making a name for themselves in the indie-punk scene for a few years now, and they’ve now inked a deal with Pure Noise Records, who will release their new three-song EP Control Room tomorrow (Thursday, June 13). The EP will feature new single “Moonlight,” and we’re premiering that song and its video in this post. It’s a catchy, breezy dose of indie rock led by the soaring vocals of Esther Mulders, and if you dig stuff like Alvvays or the boygenius crew, you’re probably gonna dig this too. Check it out below, and if you like what you hear, you can pre-order the EP.

Pure Noise is usually known more for signing hardcore bands than indie bands like Mundy’s Bay, but the members of Mundy’s Bay have a background in hardcore (and genre/scene lines continue to blur) so it’s a natural fit. “One of the best things that’s come out of the streaming age of music is an openness to all genres,” says guitarist Victor Beaudoin. ““We were still able to be part of the hardcore scene while reaching out to new people.”

The band is also planning to release a full-length later this year, so stay tuned for that.
