My Bloody Valentine announce first show in years (Sonicmania fest w/ NIN, more)
When asked about My Bloody Valentine releasing an album in 2018, Kevin Shields told Pitchfork, “We’re trying to do gigs starting in the summer. We’re going to play live again, so that’s always a really good way to guarantee that we’ll get the record done.” Whether or not we get that new album — Kevin says they “100% will” — they’re definitely playing shows. Or at least one show. My Bloody Valentine have been announced as one of the headliners of Japan’s Sonicmania festival (part of SummerSonic) which happens in Tokyo on August 17. It’s their first live show in over four years. Also playing are Nine Inch Nails and Marshmello.
Meanwhile, My Blood Valentine’s all-analog vinyl reissues of Isn’t Anything and Loveless are out out this week.
