Myrkur preps ‘Mareridt,’ released a new single, playing NYC & Psycho Vegas
Black metal/folk musician Myrkur is releasing Mareridt, the followup to her 2015 debut album M, this fall via Relapse. It was produced by Randall Dunn, who’s also worked with Marissa Nadler, Sunn O))), Boris, Wolves in the Throne Room, and more. There isn’t much other info on the album yet, but Myrkur did share a single, “Två Konungabarn,” a Scandinavian folk song which has her playing the nyckelharpa (a Swedish key harp) and utilizing her gorgeous clean vocals. You can listen to that and watch a video of her playing a portion of it, below.
Myrkur made her live debut at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival in 2015, and she made her NYC debut last year opening for Behemoth at Webster Hall. Now she has more tour dates coming up, including Psycho Las Vegas and her first-ever US headlining show.
The headlining show happens in Brooklyn at Saint Vitus on August 17, two days before her Psycho Vegas set. Tickets for this “exclusive east coast show” go on sale Friday (6/16) at 10 AM.
Myrkur also has some European shows coming up. All dates are listed below.
