Mystery Science Theater 3000's new season premiering on Turkey Day
Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Thanksgiving go together like mashed potatoes and gravy, having long held Turkey Day marathons of the show back in its Comedy Central and Sci-Fi Channel days (and later online). So it’s appropriate that the second season of Mystery Science Theater 3000 for Netflix will premiere on Turkey Day (Thursday, November 22). Host Jonah Ray announced the news today, saying, “The new season of MST3K drops on @netflix this TURKEY DAY. So be sure to wheel the tv into your dining room to watch with your family. Or, do what you were planning to: watch on your laptop, in bed, while eating oddly moist turkey jerky.” No word yet on what cheesy movies they’ll be watching this season — stay tuned.
Meanwhile, the MST3K 30th Anniversary Tour, featuring Jonah and show creator Joel Hodgson, starts next week and hits NYC’s PlayStation Theatre for two shows on October 14.
