Neil Young's TIDAL X EARTH Train

Neil Young turned NYC's "S" subway shuttle into the Earth Train

You may remember that earlier this year, Neil Young released his more-than-a-live-album live album, Earth, with nature sounds interwoven with the songs. He’s now furthering the concept to the NYC Subway system, with help from the TIDAL streaming service. The Earth Train is an “eco-centric installation” on the “S” shuttle train, with cars “wrapped in various earthy themes (i.e. trees, water, clouds) and will be filled with earth friendly facts that Neil would like to share with riders.” The installation (some may call it a ridable TIDAL ad) will run through July 31.

If you go today (Friday, July 15) from noon – 3 PM at the Grand Central “S” platform, you can get a voucher for three months of free TIDAL service. If you’re already a subscriber, you can pick up a complimentary round-trip MetroCard. Check out pics of Neil’s Earth Train in the gallery above.
