You probably heard about the once-in-a-thousand-years storm and subsequent devastating floods that hit West Virginia in June. (Greenbrier Country, where I was born and raised, got the worst of it.) Actor, musician and WV native Michael Cerveris has put together a benefit night at NYC’s Joe’s Pub on August 21 featuring performances by Nellie McKay, Laura Cantrell, Suzzy Roche, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Anders Parker, and Loose Cattle, as well as WV-based artists Todd Burge, Tyler Childers, NPR’s Mountain Stage host Larry Groce, Ona, and The Carpenter Ants. There are 7 PM and 9:30 PM shows that night with proceeds benefiting the West Virginia Red Cross flood recovery efforts. Tickets are on sale now.
