new Brooklyn Bazaar opens in September (initial live music schedule)
The new location of Brooklyn Bazaar (the old Polonaise Terrace space on Manhattan Ave at Greenpoint Ave) will open its doors on Friday, September 9. The three-level space features four bars, a basement arcade with ping pong, mini-golf and karaoke, plus a restaurant (a new branch of Brooklyn Star), and a 400-capacity music venue, in addition to the local vendors selling their wares. They will be open seven days a week, Sunday – Thursday from 5 PM – 1 AM, and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 PM to 2 AM.
While it remains free to go to Brooklyn Bazaar’s vendor floor/arcade levels, concerts at the new BK Bazaar will now be ticketed (some were before), and opening weekend features Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on Friday, 9/9 and Pissed Jeans on Saturday, 9/10. Other upcoming shows include I Am the Avalanche (9/18), Ted Leo (9/24), Self Defense Family (9/30), Ceremony (10/22), Dan Andriano of Alkaline Trio (10/28) and A Place to Bury Strangers on Halloween. BK Bazaar will also host Wild Fest BK (the <a href=”http://www.brooklynvegan.com/mind-over-matter-capital-crime-in-stereo-iron-chic-more-playing-long-islands-wild-fest/“>Long Island one</a> happened earlier this year) on November 26 with Iron Chic, Laura Stevenson, and Nude Beach. (UPDATE: Lineup initially listed Beach Slang as playing but they are not.) There will also be a Tuesday night movie series curated by Nitehawk Cinema.
UPDATE 2: Wild Fest lineup has been expanded to include Iron Chic, Laura Stevenson, Worriers, Nude Beach, Shellshag, Outskirts, Big Eyes, and Weed Hounds. Tickets are on sale and proceeds benefit the Mcallister Family Memorial Fund.
