Radius Chicago

new venue Radius opening in Chicago (initial lineup w/ King Gizzard, Bad Religion & more)

Chicago’s East Pilsen neighborhood is getting a new venue early in 2020. The independently owned and operated Radius is opening in a space that used to house a steel factory. At 55,000 square feet, it holds a capacity of between 2500-3800 people, nine bars, and a D&B KSL sound system; it also contains the 10,000 square foot multi-purpose event space Cermak Hall.

Owner and operator Nick Karounos, who also owns and operates Concord Music Hall, the MID, and PRYSM Nightclub, says, “we were looking for a scalable, multi-purpose venue space to house a state of the art concert facility with modern art and design elements at the forefront, and we’ve created it with Radius. This project has been 4 years in the making and we are beyond excited to show Chicago and the rest of the world what we have built for music lovers of all genres.”

The initial Radius lineup includes Lil Wayne on March 28, Alkaline Trio and Bad Religion on April 18, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard on April 24, and more; see it in full below. Tickets to all newly announced shows go on sale Friday, December 13 at noon CST.

For Bad Religion, the Chicago show is part of their 40th anniversary coheadlining tour with Alkaline Trio; King Gizzard’s show is also part of their spring tour.
