UPDATE: Due to “circumstances beyond our control,” MC Bin Laden couldn’t make it into the country for tonight’s show.

More details about the new, relocated Villain have been revealed. The new space located at 307 Kent (between S. 2nd & S. 3rd) which is just a few blocks away from the original space. The first show at the new Villain happens this Saturday (4/29) for one of the kickoff events at the 2017 Red Bull Music Academy. The party is called “Fluxo: Funk Proibidão” and features MC Bin Laden, MC Carol, DJ Assault, Sicko Mobb, Venus X & Asmara (Putaria Maxima), Leo Justi, and Tom DJ. Here’s more about the party and the new Villain:

Kicking off the month of groundbreaking programming is Fluxo: Funk Probidão, a celebration of Brazil’s vital and explicit bass music movement, which we can announce today will take place at the new Villain space at 307 Kent Avenue. Relocated from its former home of 50 N 3rd St, new Villain is an open plan, 15,000 square-foot former factory space, equipped with a state-of-the-art sound equipment, fabrication shop, and photo studio. RBMA’s design team — In close collaboration with Villain — will transform the space to mimic the vibrancy of Brazil’s fluxos (block parties), complete with subwoofer-fitted hatchbacks, boldly colored woven fences, beaming spotlights and more. You’ll feel as if you’ve been transported to São Paolo or Rio Di Janeiro.

Tickets for Fluxo: Funk Probidão are on sale and flyer is below.

MC Bin Laden, who makes his debut US appearance at the Fluxo event, will release the É Grau EP on May 12 via True Panther. You can listen to lead single “É Grau Olha Pra Traz E Da Tchau” below.

The only other show at Villain that’s been announced so far is Parquet Courts on June 3 which is a Governors Ball After Dark show (tickets on presale now).
