New Yorker Festival: 2018 lineup & tickets

UPDATE: Following backlash and cancellations from Judd Apatow, John Mulaney, Jack Antonoff, Patton Oswalt, and Jim Carey, the Steve Bannon interview is off.

The 2018 edition of the New Yorker Festival happens October 5-7 in NYC and, as always, features a lineup of talks and performances with folks from the world of the arts, media, politics and more. It’s headlined, believe it or not, with a talk with Breitbart founder and Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon. There are a couple music-related events this year: Kacey Musgraves with talk with writer Kelefa Sanneh and perform live at Roulette on October 5; Miguel talks with writer Hua Hsu and performs live at the Society for Ethical Culture on October 5; Jack Antonoff talks with writer Andrew Marantz at Roulette on October 5; Kurt Vile talks with Amanda Petrusich and performs live at the Ailey Citygroup Theater on October 6; and Kelela talks with writer Vinson Cunningham and performs live at the Ailey Citygroup Theater on October 6.

There are also talks with John Mulaney, Mike Birbiglia, Jim Carrey, Hasan Minhaj, Emily Blunt, Patton Oswalt, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jimmy Fallon, Boots Riley (Sorry to Bother You, The Coup), a talk between Christopher Guest, Judd Apatow and Loudon Wainwright III (with a little music, too), and still more.

Tickets go on sale to New Yorker subscribers on Thursday, September 6 at noon, and go on sale to the general public on Friday, September 7 at noon. Check out the full schedule and more info here.
