Nick Zinner performing "41 Strings" in NYC w/ mems of Interpol, Patti Smith band, YYYs, TVOTR, more

Back in 2011, Yeah Yeah YeahsNick Zinner debuted “41 Strings” — a four-part orchestral piece that he, Hisham Bharoocha (of Lightning Bolt and Black Dice) and Ben Vida (of Soft Circle) were commissioned to create by Loomstate clothing company — in NYC in honor of Earth Day. It’s since been performed at London’s Meltdown Festival and Sydney Opera House. Now, it’s set to return to NYC later this month for a single public performance at Rockefeller Plaza on Saturday, July 27 at 7 PM.

An all-star cast of indie rock musicians will come together for the performance, including Paul Banks (Interpol), Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith band), Angel Deradoorian, Andrew Wyatt (Miike Snow), Sarah Lipstate (Noveller), Ava Mendoza, and Aku Orraca-Tetteh on guitar; Nick’s Yeah Yeah Yeahs bandmate Brian Chase, Ryan Sawyer (Gang Gang Dance), and Hisham Bharoocha on drums; Andy McDonald and Jaleel Bunton (TV on the Radio) on bass; Ben Vida and Nancy Whang (LCD Soundsystem) on synths; and arranger Gillian Rivers and a 35-piece classical string ensemble.
