Nine Inch Nails join forces with 'Captain Marvel' on official t-shirt

The latest Marvel movie, Captain Marvel, is out today and stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers who becomes “one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.” The film is set in the ’90s and when Brie Larson is not in her superhero garb, she sports a classic Nine Inch Nails shirt for much of the film. Marvel approached the band about making an official NIN/Captain Marvel t-shirt, to which they said yes. It combines both their logos and you can get it now for a limited time through Nine Inch Nails’ store. Here’s what it looks like:

With the film being set in 1995, the soundtrack also features lots of music from that era, including Nirvana, Hole, TLC, Salt-N-Pepa, Elastica, No Doubt, Garbage, and more. As for the score, Captain Marvel is also the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to use a female composer, Pinar Toprak, who mixes more standard orchestral moments with electronic music. “We wanted a cosmic sound, and then we very much had 1990s Earth,” Toprak told Variety. Captain Marvel is also the first MCU movie to be directed by woman (Anna Boden who co-directed and co-wrote with Ryan Fleck). You can listen to Toprak’s score and a playlist of songs from the film, and watch the trailer, below.
