No Man

NØ MAN (Majority Rule) streaming LP, begin tour with Darkest Hour

Last year, screamo vets Majority Rule reunited for live shows, and this year, all three members (Matt Michel, Kevin Lamiell, and Pat Broderick) debuted their new band NØ MAN, who are fronted by Maha Shami (who sang guest vocals on Majority Rule’s “Packaged Poison” from their 2002 split with pg.99). They released their debut album Devils Cast Long Shadows, which features guest vocals by Amanda MacKaye of Dischord bands Desiderata and Routineers (and yes, as you may know, she is Ian’s sister) and David Goldberg, and it rips. Compared to Majority Rule’s slower and more atmospheric screamo, NØ MAN make aggressive, pulverizing hardcore punk and Maha’s a killer frontwoman who sounds as pissed off as you need to be make music like this sound convincing. It’s a great album and you can stream it below.

NØ MAN are beginning a short Northeast tour opening for Darkest Hour in DC tonight, and that tour wraps up in Brooklyn on Friday (11/16) at The Kingsland (tickets). All dates, which are also with Damnation A.D., Cemetery Piss, and Walk The Plank, are listed below.

Meanwhile, Matt Michel also produced the anticipated new Portrayal of Guilt album, Let Pain Be Your Guide, which he and Maha both provide guest vocals on, and that album is currently streaming at NPR.
