"No more Misfits shows after MSG," Danzig says + Verotika coming to NY

It seems the string of reunion shows from The “Original” Misfits, aka Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only, and Doyle, joined by Slayer’s Dave Lombardo on drums, is just about over. In a red carpet interview with Bionic Buzz at the Hollywood premiere of Rob Zombie’s new film 3 From Hell, Danzig was asked about any upcoming Misfits shows on the horizon, and answered, simply, “no more Misfits shows except MSG.”

In an interview he gave earlier this year, Danzig said he was “pretty sure there’s not gonna be many more of” the reunion shows, so this isn’t exactly an unexpected development, but considering how great their recent Psycho Las Vegas set was, it’s definitely a bummer.

The Madison Square Garden show happens not long before Halloween, on October 19. Tickets are still available, and all hell’s gonna (probably) break loose.

As to what Danzig will be up to after the Misfits shows are done, he’s planning to keep busy with his film career. His directorial debut Verotika is premiering in more cities, including an NYC premiere at AMC Times Square, and in Los Angeles, it may be screened regularly on Saturday nights at midnight. The “so bad it’s good” film has been compared to The Room, to give you an idea of what audiences are in for.

UPDATE: The AMC Times Times Square screening happens October 18, the day before the Misfits’ MSG show. Tickets go on sale September 26 at midnight (Wednesday night/Thursday morning).

Danzig also says he’s in preproduction on a new film, which he describes as a “vampire spaghetti western” that begins shooting next month. Stay tuned for more on that.

Fellow Misfit Doyle also attended the 3 From Hell premiere, and you can see him posing at the screening with Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy (also his girlfriend), Adam “Nergal” Darski of Behemoth, Kat Von D, and artist Llewellyn in the picture below.
