Noel Gallagher shares "Holy Mountain" from new LP (listen), expands tour

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have just shared the first single from their forthcoming album, Who Built the Moon?. “Holy Mountain” is a horn-fueled, danceable stormer and maybe what you’d not expect from Gallagher at this stage of his career (or maybe ever). “It was one of the first things David [Holmes] and I did on the first week of working together,” Noel says. “I knew instantly that it was going to be the first single. There’s so much joy in it. Until the day I die, it will be one of my favourite pieces of music that I’ve ever written. It sounds great live. My kids love it, my friends’ kids all love it and I am sure ‘the kids’ will love it.” Paul Weller (who was just in NYC) plays organ on it and you can listen to “Holy Mountain” below.

Who Built the Moon? is out November 24 and, in addition to Weller, features an appearance Johnny Marr. Noel will be on tour in 2018, including a stop at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall on February 15 (tickets). If you’d like to go for free, we’re giving away a pair of Radio City tickets on our Facebook. He’s expanded the tour since our last posting, including a second Los Angeles show at The Orpheum on March 13 (tickets). All dates are listed below.

Meanwhile, Noel’s brother Liam just released his solo debut and will be on tour this fall.
