Northside Fest: initial 2017 lineup

Northside Festival, which runs June 8 – 11, has announced — its initial 2017 lineup which is pretty impressive. As usual, headline shows are in McCarren Park. At least one is free, and the ticketed shows, and most other just-announced shows for the fest, go on sale Friday, March 24 at noon:

MCCARREN PARK SHOWS:

Thursday, June 8: Dirty Projectors, Kamasi Washington, and Jay Som

Friday, June 9: TBA

Saturday, June 10: Miguel and more TBA

Sunday June 11: Thursday, PUP, The Hotelier, and Jeff Rosenstock (free show!)

AND:

The rest of the Northside lineup includes some previously announced shows like the Mild High Club and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart shows at Music Hall of Williamsburg, The Explosion show at Saint Vitus, and the Girlpool show at Warsaw. There’s also Downtown Boys, Lower Dens (performing ABBA’s greatest hits!), Julia Holter, Laetitia Sadier (ex-Stereolab), US Girls, She-DevilsVagabon, Craig Leon & Martin Rev, Mary Timony playing Helium songs, an Elysia Crampton / Total Freedom / Moor Mother show at Good Room, and more. UPDATE: There’s a William Basinski show on June 9 at National Sawdust (tickets).

Showcase presenters so far include Pitchfork, Kickstarter’s The Creative Independent, 33 ⅓ Book Series, Sacred Bones, AdHoc and more.

Northside Innovation (June 7-9) will welcome a vibrant entrepreneurial community of 10,000 attendees across three days of conference keynote talks, interviews, panels, masterclasses, pitch competitions, immersive VR activations, and evening parties; all focused on exploring how technology is changing the way we live, work and create.
