Woodstock 50 at Merriweather Post Pavilion

NY Times says "Woodstock 50 will now be at the Merriweather Post Pavilion"

Well, it’s official: according to the New York Times, the troubled Woodstock 50 has been saved, and has a new home at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, just outside Baltimore. It’s still set to be held in less than a month, from August 16-18, 2019, although tickets have yet to go on sale, and it remains to be seen which artists from the original lineup will play a modified version of the festival more than 250 miles south of the original venue at Watkins Glen.

Smashing Pumpkins and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ tour together is currently set to stop at MPP on August 17, and according to New York Times, neither the venue nor festival organizers gave a comment about that scheduling obstacle.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the relocated festival would change its name to Woodstock 50 Washington and donate some of its proceeds to climate change and voter registration charities. These charities were set to have a presence at Woodstock 50 since day one, but maybe now they are more directly set to benefit from ticket sales
