NYC show cancellations due to Winter Storm Stella

stella

Winter Storm Stella is looking to potentially dump upwards of 20″ of snow on the NYC-area over the next 24 hours, not to mention predicted 40-50 miles per hour winds, which are already causing headaches for a lot of people flying to SXSW. But it’s also likely to play havoc with lots of stuff on a local level as well. Governor Cuomo has activated the State Emergency Operations Center for Monday evening (3/13) to prepare and respond to the Nor’easter that is expected to reach New York State late tonight. Above-ground subway service will be suspended early Tuesday morning (4 AM) and NYC public schools will be closed Tuesday.

The forecast has already canceled a few shows. Here’s what we know so far, and we’ll update as we learn more:

The Deafheaven, This Will Destroy You, and Emma Ruth Rundle show at Warsaw has been postponed to Wednesday, 3/15.

The Strand of Oaks and Twin Limb show at Music Hall of Williamsburg has been postponed to Monday, 5/8.

The King Woman show at Saint Vitus has been cancelled. UPDATE: now back on, and free

The Trap Orchestra and Haasan Barclay show at Knitting Factory on Tuesday (3/14) has been canceled.

The Secondhand Serenade: “Awake” 10 Year Anniversary Tour show at Webster Hall on Tuesday has been postponed.

The Trivia Night for Cheaters benefit at Bell House has been postponed.

The Art Garfunkel show at City Winery has been postponed.

That’s all we’ve seen so far. Stay tuned, keep warm!
