Okay Kaya celebrated new album at National Sawdust w/ Zenizen (pics)

Okay Kaya (real name Kaya Wilkins) brought her recent release and first album for Jagjaguwar, Watch This Liquid Pour Itself, to life at a sold out National Sawdust in Brooklyn on Thursday night (2/13). The 40 minute set included nine of album’s fifteen tracks, including standouts “Ascent and Try Again” and “Baby Little Tween”. Backed by Opal Hoyt (lead singer in opening band Zenizen) and a contrabass player, Kaya had the room under her spell from start to finish. Brooklyn’s Zenizen opened the show with a genre-defying blend of soul and indie rock. Check out pictures from the whole night in the gallery above.

Kaya has more touring coming up, including SXSW in March, Pitchfork Fest Berlin in May, and more European dates.
