Old Gray releasing a new LP & touring; Sorority Noise & TWIABP streaming split
Cameron Boucher may now be best known for Sorority Noise, but their debut LP actually came out the year after the other band he fronts, Old Gray. Now he’s set to release Old Gray’s sophomore album, and perhaps the rise of Sorority Noise will help Old Gray get a little more exposure for this one. While Sorority Noise are kind of an indie/pop punk band, Old Gray hearken back to late ’90s screamo. But “Everything Is In Your Hands,” the lead single off upcoming LP Slow Burn, actually starts out sounding kinda like a Sorority Noise song. Eventually it gets harsher, and it turns out Cam’s two styles work pretty well together. Listen:
Slow Burn is due December 9 via Cam’s own Flower Girl Records, and Old Gray will kick off a short tour that same night. The tour hits Brooklyn on December 17 at Shea Stadium with likeminded local band Nine of Swords (whose drummer TJ just filled in with Crying on tour), plus Soul Glo and Closer. Sorority Noise also said they’d be releasing a split with The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die ahead of their 2017 LP, and that’s now out on Triple Crown. Listen:
