Opeth announce tour with Graveyard (The Apollo included), share LP outtake

Prog metal vets Opeth released their new album In Cauda Venenum last week (read Invisible Oranges’ review), and today they announced a 2020 North American tour in support of it with fellow Swedish band Graveyard. They also released an outtake from the album, “Cirkelns Riktning,” as part of Decibel’s Flexi Series. Listen to that below.

Speaking about the tour, Mikael Åkerfeldt says:

Well, after having had the ”In Cauda Venenum” LP released we’re set to start touring in support of it. Right now, I’m at home practicing. Learning new songs and re-learning older songs. It’s funny how our music lies dormant in the muscle memory. There are songs I haven’t played for years, and there still there somehow. I put together the skeleton of a setlist and looking at it there’s some niceties in there. I hope. Hard to tell really. Touring in North America is always a treat. We all collectively look forward to it. Hope you are too!

The tour includes a two-night stand at Harlem’s historic Apollo Theater on February 21 & 22 and also hits other iconic venues like Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, LA’s Hollywood Palladium, and more. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday (10/4) at 10 AM with a radio presale starting Thursday (10/3) at 10 AM. PASSWORD = WSOU. All dates are listed below.
