Other Music hosting final in-store on Tuesday with 75 Dollar Bill followed by Second Line parade to Bowery farewell

Other Music only has three days left in business. The store is open normal hours for the remainder of their stay on E. 4th St: Thursday & Friday from 11 AM to 9 PM, and Saturday from noon – 8PM. It will probably be nuts in there all weekend but maybe you’ll still be able to pick up one of their Top 100 All-Time Best-Sellers.

While the “Other Music Forever” show at Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday, June 28 is sold-out, there have been some more farewell party festivities added to the day. There will be one last Other Music in-store Tuesday at 5:30 PM as they pack up boxes, with 75 Dollar Bill, followed at 6:30 PM by a Second Line-style parade (!) led by Matana Roberts that will march from Other Music, across 4th Street, down the Bowery, to Bowery Ballroom on Delancey. 75 Dollar Bill will bring up the rear.

As for the Bowery show, Janeane Garofalo will be hosting the event that includes performances from Yo La Tengo, Sharon Van Etten, John Zorn, The Tallest Man on Earth and more.

Speaking of 75 Dollar Bill, the duo have a new album, Wood / Metal / Plastic / Pattern / Rhythm / Rock, out now via Thin Wrist Recordings. The album title is a fitting sort of descriptor for the jazzy, jammy, textured and very cool music 75 Dollar Bill make, and you can listen to “Beni Said” from the LP, below. They also play Union Pool on June 30 with C. Joynes and Metal Mountains (tickets) and they’ll also be at North Carolina’s Hopscotch festival in September.
