Palisades was shut down due to building code violations
We already knew Brooklyn venue Palisades was having to move shows through at least July, and now more info on their closure has arrived. According to the Department of Buildings (via Gothamist), Palisades was cited for multiple violations, including “GROUND FL OPERATED AS A CABARET WITHOUT A SPRINKLER SYSTEM CELLAR WORK W/O PERMITS & FAILURE TO MAINTAIN PREMISES.”
Venue booker Ariel Bitran told Resident Advisor, “We’re currently moving all gigs but could reopen in August. We can’t advise specifically why we were shut down, [but] we are very grateful for the outreach from the community.”
Among the shows moved is the BrooklynVegan-presented mewithoutYou show, which will now happen at Saint Vitus on June 21.
