Greenpoint’s The Park Church Co-Op was given a nine-month funding extension by the Lutheran Church, but has a goal to become self-sustaining by the end of the year to continue as a place of community, worship, and the arts. They’ve just launched an official campaign that aims to both increase donations and congregation size. “As a church, we have been growing slowly but steadily since I arrived in 2015,” said Pastor Amy Kienzle. “But we are facing a deadline this fall for showing that we can sustain ourselves with both people and money, without needing as much funding from the larger Lutheran organizations. This is a challenge that I feel confident we will meet but our efforts are dependent on all church members and our partners in the community.”

As you may know from seeing a show there, The Park Church Co-Op is a gorgeous, special place to see live music. There are various levels of donations with options that include passes to upcoming Ad Hoc presents shows. Upcoming shows at Park Church Co-Op include Sub Pop artist Jo Passed and Dick Stusso on June 8 (part of Northside); Dan English, Harmony Tividad (of Girlpool), Curt Oren, and Sharleen Chidiac on June 20; and former Majical Cloudz frontman Devon Welsh on June 27. Tickets are also on sale.
