Patti Smith announces 3 "Words and Music" shows in NYC

Having just performed at the Lowlands festival in Netherlands yesterday (8/19), NYC punk legend Patti Smith has announced a run of unique performances happening in her hometown this fall. She’ll be appearing at Minetta Lane Theatre in Greenwich Village on September 22, 23, and 24 for “Words and Music” shows, which will feature “original spoken-word performance interwoven with music from her beloved catalog creating a one-of-a-kind intimate portrait of this pioneering artist.” The shows are also being recorded for an upcoming release on Audible. Tickets for all three shows go on sale Wednesday (8/22) at 12 AM with a presale beginning today (8/20) at 10 AM.

Patti’s only other upcoming shows are the upcoming Pathway to Paris (the organization co-founded by Patti’s daughter Jesse) benefits in San Francisco on 9/14 with Bob Weir, Flea, Eric Burdon, and more; and LA on 9/16 with Karen O, Flea, Eric Burdon, Tony Hawk, and more.

Earlier this year, Patti released a new poetry book, The New Jerusalem.
