Patti Smith helped celebrate Federico Garcia Lorca’s birthday at Bowery Ballroom (pics, videos, setlist)

Patti Smith contributed to the ongoing Federico Garcia Lorca Birthday Celebration with her show at Bowery Ballroom on Wednesday (6/5). The show opened the show with a Federico Garcia Lorca poetry reading, and then Patti and her band kicked into a set which included a number of classic Patti Smith tunes — “Ask the Angles, Redondo Beach,” “Pissing in a River” — and a bunch of covers too, like “Summertime Blues.” Other band members took the lead vocal on some of the covers as well. Pictures from the show are in this post.
