Jesse Paris Smith and Rebecca Foon‘s organization Pathways to Paris — a non-profit ” focused on turning the Paris Agreement into reality” — held a benefit concert at Carnegie Hall Sunday night (11/5). Jesse and Rebecca were both among the performers, who also included Jesse’s mother Patti Smith, as well as Michael Stipe, Flea, Talib Kweli, Cat Power, Joan Baez, Tanya Tagaq and more.

Talib Kweli played his 2002 hit “Get By” backed by Flea on bass, and Joan Baez came out in the middle of the song to dance (video below). Patti, who was joined at various points by Jesse Paris Smith and Rebecca Foon, plus longtime bandmates Lenny Kaye and Tony Shanahan, did Beatles, Cat Stevens, and Neil Young covers, and she played “People Have the Power” twice, once during her main set and once at the very end of the show. For that ending, the entire lineup of performers joined her on stage (video below).

Joan Baez’s set included covers of Antony and the Johnsons’ “Another World” and John Lennon’s “Imagine” (video of the Antony cover below), and Michael Stipe’s set included two Ringo Starr covers, a Nat King Cole cover, and a cover of The Velvet Underground’s “Sunday Morning.” Jesse Paris Smith joined Stipe on piano for part of his set too, and Now It’s Overhead’s Andy LeMaster played bass.

Even more videos, including one of Cat Power playing “Names” and “Maybe Not,” are below, along with some setlists. Pictures from the show are in the gallery above.
