Patti Smith played the 'Mother!' premiere @ Radio City, plays SummerStage tonight (win tix!)

Darren Aronofsky‘s highly anticipated new psychological thriller, Mother!, had its U.S. premiere on Wednesday night (9/13) at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall. The end credits are, for many, the cue to get up and leave, but at Radio City, Patti Smith came out and played a few songs with longtime collaborators Lenny Kaye and Tony Shanahan accompanying her. She played her cover of Skeeter Davis’ “The End of the World” (which is in the film), and then performed “Mother’s Prayer,” “Pissing in a River,” and”Because the Night.” Check out video from that below.

Patti Smith and her band plays Central Park SummerStage tonight (9/14) which is a tribute to her late husband and MC5 member Fred “Sonic” Smith, and Patti and Fred’s children Jesse Paris and Jackson will be joining her for the show. Tickets are still available but if you’d like to go for free, we’re giving a pair away.
