Paul McCartney played 1st of 2 MSG shows, brought out Bruce Springsteen (setlist, video)
Paul McCartney is the midst of his eight-show NYC-area run, and played the Big Apple proper on Friday night (9/15), his first of two shows at Madison Square Garden. His nearly 40-song setlist, similar to most shows on the tour, does as good a job of mixing up crowd-pleasers with a few deep cuts and new songs as you could really hope from someone whose catalog is as deep and rich as his, plus a few surprises too. He had a big surprise for folks at MSG on Friday night, bringing out Bruce Springsteen and Little Steven for Beatles classic “I Saw Her Standing There” which they played not once, but twice. Paul plays MSG again on Sunday (9/17) before heading to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, and then Naussau Coliseum later this month. (If his two Prudential Center shows earlier this week are any indication, he’ll likely mix the setlist up a bit for MSG night 2.) Tickets are still available.
