Paul McCartney sang happy birthday to Jimmy Fallon at Barclays (pics, video)
After beginning his eight-show NYC-area run with two Prudential Center shows, and then playing two MSG shows (one with Bruce Springsteen), Paul McCartney headed to Brooklyn for his first of two Barclays Center shows last night (9/19). Paul doesn’t really change his setlist up much, and the song choices last night basically mirrored the ones at the previous NYC-area shows, with tons of Beatles classics like “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “All My Loving,” “We Can Work It Out,” “Love Me Do,” “And I Love Her,” “Blackbird,” “Lady Madonna,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “A Day in the Life,” “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da,” “Back in the U.S.S.R,” “Let It Be,” “Hey Jude,” “Yesterday,” and a portion of Side B of Abbey Road.
No surprise guests last night, but Jimmy Fallon was in the audience and it was his birthday, and Paul had the crowd sing “Happy Birthday” to him. You can see video of that below, along with the setlist. Check out pictures in the gallery above.
Paul plays Barclays again on Thursday (9/21), and then ends his NYC-area run with Nassau Coliseum shows on September 26 and 27. You can still snag some tickets.
