Pedro the Lion have shared a third single off their anticipated first album in 15 years, Phoenix, which comes out on Polyvinyl next week (1/18). “Quietest Friend” is a slow-paced rocker and one of the heavier songs released from the album so far, and it comes with a video. Shot on 16 mm by Jason Lester, it’s a surreal clip that features two different versions of David Bazan who keep running into each other, a mysterious kid on a bike, and some performance footage too. Check it out below.

Pedro the Lion also expanded their 2019 tour. In addition to the February dates with Tomberlin, they’ve now also got a May run with support from fellow indie vet John Vanderslice (who they also toured with back in 2004). That includes a Brooklyn show on May 10 at Music Hall of Williamsburg (the same space PTL and Vanderslice played together in 2004, when it was Northsix). Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (1/11) at 10 AM with an AmEx presale starting today (1/9). All dates are listed below. David Bazan also has a short solo living room tour this month.

Meanwhile, John Vanderslice says he has new music coming out this week, so stay tuned for that.
