Swedish indie trio Peter Bjorn and John will return this fall with new album Darker Days, which is their eighth long-player and first in two years.  “Our common goal was to talk less and play music more,” Björn Yttling says. “The idea of ‘anything goes’ that applied to the last album stayed, but we decided to do it all ourselves this time. We cut out any meaningless discussions and middle men, and made each band member his own boss and producer. We didn’t have to explain every move we made.” Peter Morén adds, “In the past we put out a record every second year and most of them we produced ourselves in Stockholm. I really enjoy making records quick. And then on to the next thing – constantly moving. It helps keep the joy of it.” It’s out October 19 and you can check out cover art below.

While no music from the record has been released yet, PB&J have announced North American shows in late fall — their first tour here in two years. Dates includes two in NYC: Rough Trade on November 30 and Bowery Ballroom on December 1. Tickets for Rough Trade and Bowery go on sale Friday, August 10 at  noon with various presales before that.

The whole tour is with Irish artist Talos and other dates include Boston, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Toronto, San Francisco and more. All are listed below.
