Pharmakon-scored movie Transfiguration premiered at Cannes, screening at SXSW

Michael O’Shea’s new horror film The Transfiguration premiered at Cannes last year and will now make its North American premiere this week at SXSW. The Transfiguration stars Eric Ruffin and Chloe Levine, and it “follows troubled teen Milo who hides behind his fascination with vampire lore.” The music for the film was composed by Margaret Chardiet, better known as Pharmakon. To quote a review on Hollywood Reporter, “O’Shea uses the bursts of droning ambient noise and the somber electronic sounds of Margaret Chardiet’s score to arresting effect.” Watch the trailer below.

Pharmakon, who releases her new album Contact this year, is also playing a show at SXSW. She plays the Moogfest Future Sound Showcase at Cheer Up Charlies on Monday (3/13). That showcase has a lot going on (more than just live music). It looks like this:

Pharmakon also plays the actual Moogfest in Durham, NC this May and she has other tour dates, including a record release show in Brooklyn on April 14 at Brooklyn Bazaar with Coteries and New Castrati. Tickets for that show are still available.
