Phil Lesh Halloween shows postponed as he recovers from back surgery

The Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh was to return to Capitol Theatre later this month for the 2019 edition of his annual Phil-O-Ween Halloween shows on 10/31, 11/1, and 11/2. Those have now been postponed, however, as Phil is recovering from back surgery.

Capitol Theatre writes:

Phil’s surgery was a success and we are working with Phil to reschedule the shows and will announce new dates as soon as we can. Tickets purchased for the three postponed shows will be honored sequentially for the corresponding new dates, once confirmed. No ticket exchanges will be required, so hang onto your tickets!

If you want to obtain a refund or if, once the new dates are announced, you are unable to attend on the new date of your show, refunds are and will be available at your point of purchase. If you purchased your tickets via Ticketfly please call (877) 435-9849. If you purchased your tickets via Ticketmaster please call (800) 653-8000 or check your options here.

Phil also shared a message on video, which you can watch below. “I want you all to know I’m very disappointed I’m not going to be able to make these shows,” he says. “I’m feeling really good but the doctors recommend that I take more time to recover from the surgery that I recently had.”

The Darkstar Orchestra will be replacing Phil on the three dates at the Cap, re-creating classic Grateful Dead shows. Tickets to those shows go on sale Tuesday 10/15 at noon.
