Phoebe Bridgers and Petal opening for Julien Baker
Julien Baker is touring this year, having just played SXSW (including the Saturday BrooklynVegan party). She’ll kick off another leg in April, and it was recently announced that LA singer/songwriter Phoebe Bridgers will open all dates on that leg. Last year, Phoebe recorded the Killer 7″ with Ryan Adams and released it on his Pax Am label. It features the title track and two b-sides, “Georgia” and “Steamroller,” that all have a bare-bones style that should fit very well with Julien’s music (they’re both big Elliott Smith fans). As mentioned, the tour hits NYC on April 27 at Bowery Ballroom, and there’s additional support from Petal on that one, which is a great triple bill. Tickets for Bowery are still available. Updated Julien Baker dates are listed below.
Petal are currently on tour with Somos, having played The Studio at Webster Hall (pictures) in NYC earlier this month. That tour will be near NYC once again this week, at Hamden, CT’s The Space on Saturday (3/26). Petal also open the Slingshot Dakota record release show in Philly.
