Phoebe Bridgers

Phoebe Bridgers releasing a new single, touring with Conor Oberst

Phoebe Bridgers first caught our ears last year with her Ryan Adams-recorded 7″ Killer and on her tour with Julien Baker. Then she contributed backing vocals to “Do You Really Want To Not Get Better” on Joyce Manor’s excellent Cody, and now she’s got a new single coming out this Friday (1/13). The A-side is “Smoke Signals,” which is not very far removed from the stuff Julien Baker does, though it’s a bit more fleshed out than Julien’s stuff (it has some real nice string arrangements). That’ll come backed by a demo for “Motion Sickness.” Listen to “Smoke Signals” below (via Stereogum), along with a live video of “Motion Sickness.”

Phoebe will also tour Europe this month and next opening for Conor Oberst, whose intimate new album Ruminations should pair wonderfully with Phoebe’s music. All dates are listed below.
