Kanine Records labelmates Fear of Men and Weaves have been on tour with Mitski but made time for a co-headline show at Baby’s All Right on Sunday night (11/20) ahead of tonight’s sold-out Mitski show at Webster Hall. Fear of Men’s Jess Weiss joked that, after being on tour for a month, everything was starting to break down as the band grappled with a fritzy projector and distortion pedal. On the flip, Weaves singer Jasmyn Burke was a little under-the-weather but both bands made the most of it.

Opening was Yohuna, who fits right into that Orchid Tapes sound and, underlining things, had Warren from Foxes in Fiction with her on guitar. Yohuna is currently donating her bandcamp sales to the Audre Lorde Project (“New York City center for gender variant people of color”).

Pictures from the whole night are in the gallery above. In other news, Fear of Men released “Change Me” a song that would eventually end up as “Erase (Aubade)” on their Fall Forever album. “This version it’s much more of a classic pop song, so we thought it would be fun to release and share a more euphoric side of our inherent miserabilism,” said the band. Check that out below.
