'Twin Peaks' premiered in LA, Chromatics played the afterparty (pics)

Friday night (5/19) was the world premiere of the Twin Peaks: The Return which happened at The Theatre at Ace Hotel. “Douglas firs are beautiful trees and if we’re very quiet, we can hear the rustling needles as we move through the forest, getting closer and closer and now we’re here,” David Lynch told the audience, who are all under strict orders to stay mum until the Showtime premiere on Sunday (5/21). Annie Hart of Au Revoir Simone (who appear in an episode) did offer this review: “Bonus spoiler alert: new #twinpeaks is awesome.” Check out some red carpet pics below.

The afterparty featured a live performance from Chromatics, who also appear in an episode (Johnny Jewel also has music in the series), and were introduced by Kyle Maclachlan (Agent Cooper), Madchen Amick (Shelly Johnson), and Dana Ashbrook (Bobby Briggs). Watch video of that below.

If you don’t have Showtime or a friend who does who’ll invite you to their viewing party, there are lots of places in NYC showing the two-hour premiere on Sunday night, including: Videology, who are hosting an all-day party (free); City Winery whose viewing party is also free (RSVP); and Alphaville (also free, more info).

The new episodes have a number of musicians appearing in them including Trent Reznor,  Sharon Van Etten, Sky Ferreira, Finn Andrews of The Veils, and more. Eddie Vedder is in it too — is he performing or will he be playing Bob?:
