PICS: The Replacements @ Maxwell's in 1986

The Replacementsreunion may be over but they are giving an official release to the storied live recordings of their February 4, 1986 show at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, called For Sale: Live at Maxwell’s 1986, on October 6 via Rhino. While you wait for the two-disc album to drop, we’ve got an exclusive set of never-before-seen photos by Caryn Rose from that very Maxwell’s show, which will also appear in the liner notes for the album. It was one of the last shows with the classic lineup of Paul Westerberg, Bob Stinson, Tommy Stinson, and Chris Mars, before Bob left the band. Check out the pics in the gallery above.

The official trailer for the album just came out, and so far The Replacements have premiered “Can’t Hardly Wait,” “I’m In Trouble,” “I Will Dare,” “Bastards of Young,” “Gary’s Got A Boner,” “Takin A Ride,” and their cover of T. Rex’s “Baby Strange” from the album. Listen to all of those below.

The live album also includes liner notes by Trouble Boys: The True Story of the Replacements author Bob Mehr, who also did the liner notes for Tommy Stinson’s band Bash & Pop’s recent reissue of their debut album.
