Pig Destroyer reissuing compilation LP 'Painter of Dead Girls' with lost demos, lyrics

Grindcore royalty Pig Destroyer are giving the deluxe reissue treatment to their early compilation album Painter of Dead Girls, originally released in 2004, the album combines a couple of pre-Prowler In the Yard EPs that Pig Destroyer released with Gnob and Benumb in the late 90s. The new reissue features a new mastering job as well as some lost demos (including a live recording) from the period. They also covered Helmet, the Dwarves, and the Stooges on this thing, and those tracks are about as cool as they sound.

Pig Destroyer are a band where the total package is important—always ones to take great care with their artwork and lyrics, this collection unearths some “lost” lyrics from the album, which vocalist JR Hayes has never been able to remember until he found an old notebook with the lyrics, as well as a bunch of new artwork.

The reissue is out May 20 via Robotic Empire (this is one of Pig Destroyer’s rare non-Relapse releases). Pre-orders are available now.

You can also now stream one of those lost demos. It’s called “Delusional Supremacy 2K,” it’s a Pig Destroyer song, and you’ve probably never heard it. Say no more. Stream that below.
