Pile releasing a new 7" (song stream & tour dates)

by Andrew Sacher

Pile

It’s hardly a secret in the blogosphere that in the wake of Speedy Ortiz’s success their former label Exploding In Sound gained a lot more presence and many of its bands like Fat History Month, Two Inch Astronaut, Grass Is Green, Palehound, Krill and others have deservedly gotten a good deal of attention. Though one of the label’s finest bands, around since its earliest days, Pile, have been talked about slightly less lately. Perhaps because their excellent album Dripping came out back in October 2012, before the EIS bands really began to break. Pile’s still been on many of the label’s showcases though (and often a crowd favorite), and now they’re finally set to put out their first release since Dripping, the “Special Snowflakes” b/w “Mama’s Lips” 7″, due out on 3/11 via EIS.

The band just released the a-side, a 7+ minute trip through indie rock and post-hardcore, often recalling the stronger moments of Dripping, and sometimes even besting them. You can stream the new track below.

Pile also have a tour coming up which hits SXSW, Savannah Stopover, and other cities, but unfortunately no NYC shows at the moment. All dates are listed, along with the new song, below…
