Piney Gir released 'Mr. Hyde's Wild Ride,' opening for Gaz Coombes on North American tour

Born in Kansas but based out of the UK, Angela Penhaligon has been making music as Piney Gir since the early ’00s. Her sixth album, Mr Hyde’s Wild Ride, was released in the fall of 2015 and, like previous LPs, is full of expertly crafted indiepop that is winsome but never applies whimsy too heavily. She’s got a way with unusual but instantly catchy melodies, and the album’s full of clever production touches. You can catch Piney Gir live as she’s opening for onetime Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes‘ North American tour which just got underway and will be in NYC this week at Rockwood Music Hall on March 24 & 25. Tickets for both shows are still available.
