Pleasure Leftists

Cleveland post-punk band Pleasure Leftists who came to NYC for a show at Acheron last night (6/27) with Crazy Spirit, Lower, Ukiah Drag, and Anasazi, are sticking around to play an even tinier space TONIGHT (6/28) at the 70 N 6 St. loft (above Public Assembly). The show’s being presented by Rituals and also includes Doom Squad and a number of DJs. Show goes from 10 PM – 4 AM and admission is the very punk price of $2 at the door. More info at the facebook event and on the show flyer, which is embedded below.

Pleasure Leftists do a similar type of post-punk to Savages, but unlike that band, who are clearly destined for fame, PL keep things on the more lo-fi/DIY side. They’ve got some pretty excellent releases out, like their recent 7″ on Katorga Works (once home to Merchandise) and their 2011 EP on Fan Death (currently home to Roomrunner). You can stream some material from those releases below.
