Polica, Spank Rock & Marijuana Deathsquads @ Pioneer Works (pics)
Last year, a duo version of Polica (Channy Leaneagh & Ryan Olson) played some shows (including some with Bon Iver) and used the opportunity to play some new material. No word on a new album yet, but full-band Polica have been staying active in a live setting all of this year. Last in NYC to open for Yeasayer in Prospect Park in June, they returned to headline a show at performing arts space Pioneer Works on Friday (10/27). There was direct support from Spank Rock, who also joined Polica during their set, and Ryan Olson’s other band Marijuana Deathsquads (who currently count P.O.S as a member) opened the show. Polica recently collaborated with electronic musician Lane 8 on his new single “No Captain” and you can hear that below.
